Rebecca Pappas

This visual experiment was a collaboration with photographer and videographer Charles Borowicz, performed as part of my Works on Water residency at Governor's Island. I reenacted a photo of modern dance pioneer Hanya Holm leaping 100 times, allowing the leap to deteriorate and change during this iterative process. It took an entire afternoon to shoot and as I worked, picnickers and passers by asked if they could join. This was part of initial research into early modern dance, the pastoral, and historical reenactment.
